Getting my Monday espresso at my favorite coffice (place where you come to buy coffee but end up working for a while):
“How’s your day coming along? No Monday pains?” asks one of the always smiling barristas.
“I truly don’t believe in attribution of extra qualities to Mondays beyond any other day, so it is coming along great. And how’s yours?”
“How nice of you to ask.” And it is a genuine surprise, just as genuine my question was. She continues:
“I realized that since I am not able to currently change some things in my life, I can change the way I perceive them”.
Her answer summed up the biggest challenge of the majority of my consulting projects. It might be the wisest and most true sentence I will hear today. Thank you for the great coffee and 30 second conversation that levels up my Monday.
